Ruby Da Cherry and $crim are cousins from New Orleans. During their time in the University, they started uploading self-produced tracks in Soundcloud. The duo clocked in millions of streams and gained a niche following. Their music style at the time was a unique mix of rap, metal, trap, and punk. The duo sang and rapped about dark themes, bringing in a myriad of hip-hop and metal fans. Suicideboys have now broken into the mainstream charts.
